Favorite 6 Marvel Movies

After re-watching a lot of Marvel movies, I've decided to list my favorite 6.

#6 Avengers Age of Ultron: Ironman vs Hulk, Quicksilver was good and I liked Vision. Good setup movie.

#5 Amazing Spider-Man 2: Though the mourning of Gwen was rushed, it was a good set up for future Spiderman events. Too bad we'll never see it.

#4 Captain America The First Avenger: The movie that made me like Captain Steve Rogers.

#3 Ironman: The beginning of Phase one. Probably the best Marvel origin movie.

#2 Guardians of the Galaxy: The funniest Marvel movie. Unexpectedly funny and a great cast.

#1 Captain America The Winter Soldier: I can't get over how awesome movie is. And those fights scenes.

DC You First Impressions

It’s a great time to be a DC fan. DC has now rebooted their universe once more, continuing approximately 25 of the ongoing New 52 titles and making way for new contemporary stories. DC has some new refreshing takes on old concepts and some newer ones they’re ready to bring in.

I’ve gotten a chance to read the first issues of all the newer DC You stuff and I’m impressed. I haven’t been into superhero, DC/ Marvel related stuff as of late but DC comics is in a good place right now. Prez, We Are Robin are my two new personal favorites. I like the premise of Prez, in a time where social media has become so powerful and influential that even an election could be decided through something like Twitter. The art is good and it’s really funny. We Are Robin is a cool new outlook on the “sidekick”. Instead of having an trainee apprentice sort of live in the shadow of the main hero, you get a group of kids inspired by Batman and Robin who decide to kind of enforce justice on their own. So really excited to see where those series go.

Until the New 52 I wasn’t a fan of Batgirl but she’s secretly got a really solid comics series going for her. With the new art direction and new costume Batgirl has never been better. If you didn’t know, commissioner Jim Gordon is currently Robo-Batman so seeing how Barabara is going to have to deal with that is interesting. We of course have Superman who’s not as super as he should be and the readers are now experiencing a much more human Clark Kent. Lastly can we talk about Slade Wilson? Deathstroke the Terminator? He’s got a sweet blade made from Hephaestus and has a contract that requires him to kill a God.

Overall I’m pretty happy with DC again. I’ll be keeping up with these new and older line up of comics. If you’re new to comic books luckily there are tons of new content coming out so feel free to jump right in.

My Top 6 Image Comic Books

I love Image Comics. I've been a big DC fan for years and a casual Marvel fan. But this year I kinda got frustrated and tired of superhero comics. So for the first time this year I actually picked some Image Comics and started reading them this year. And I fell in love, I've caught up to over 30 different series. I love lots of series from Wayward to Birthright to American Vampire. These are currently my favorite six comics from Image.
