Oddly enough I wasn't that big of a Zelda fan until I played Windwaker. I did like the games I played, but I just didn't appreciate them fully until that fateful game. From there I'd go on to play and replay every Legend of Zelda game I could get my hands on. I haven't played and/or beaten every single Zelda game but I have at least attempted most. SO without further ado, here's my list of the Zelda games from worst I've played to the best I've played. This is just my opinion.
17. Zelda II: The Adventure of Link (Unable to beat, too hard) FUCK. This. Game. Next.
16. The Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening - This game is so forgettable I forget it's a game until someone brings it up.
15. The Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks - (Didn't finish) I don't really enjoy DS Zelda games and I couldn't bring myself to finish this game. I looked up what happened.
14. The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass - (Beaten once)
Don't really like this game's story and I hate the DS touchscreen mechanics for Zelda games.

13. The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords - (Beaten once)
I imagine that this game would have been more fun with friends.

12. The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons & Ages - (Beat Seasons didn't finish Ages)
It's okay, in my opinion. Didn't bother with Ages.

11. The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures - (Beaten once)
I had friends for this one! Super fun!

10. The Legend of Zelda a Link Between Worlds - I DO like the Link to the Past style of this game, great homage, cool parallel world and stuff but, Link to the Past is still better. I actually didn't like how Link looked by the way.
9. The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap - (Beat it twice)
First handheld Zelda game I played. I thought it was cute and fun (although lazy...giant Slime as a dungeon boss, NO -_-). It just has a place in my heart as the first non 3D Zelda I tried hard to beat.

8. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past - (Beaten once)
Zelda elitists will give me shit for having this game this low on the list. I like this game, a lot and I acknowledge it's greatness but still, just not one of my personal favorites.

7. The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask - (Finally beat it as a grown man). Man, the theories this game has spawned. This is a great game to me solely because I had to be like 19 to beat it...when my brain worked relatively well enough. I wasn't smart enough when I was a young lad. The dark undertone and ambiance also make this game's plot wonderfully twisted.
6. The Legend of Zelda – (one long playthrough)
I love it! It's the first in the series, there's so much to do and much exploring to be done. I love the pick up and go type of adventuring. RESPECT YOUR CLASSICS!

5. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - (Beat it twice)
Here it is. The game that stole the hearts of many Zelda fans alike. Truly a revolutionary game that STILL holds ups to this day. Also that timeline split.

4. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess - (Beaten twice)
Man, Midna carried this game for me. I liked how it was dark, gritty and I was an older Link...and a Wolf. Midna is my favorite Zelda character period and I really thought this game was cool. The Wiimote mechanics were a little unreliable at times though.

3. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker - (Beat it thrice)
This is the Zelda game that made me actually like Zelda a lot. Not be the first Zelda game I ever played but it's the first one I beat (I beat OOT after this). I played the HD version on WiiU recently and had just as much fun as the Gamecube version.

2. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword - (Beat it many times)
Many Zelda fans don't like this game for it's gameplay and linear story line (with revisiting places you've been). I respect this game for it's phenomenal story and storytelling. The characters were great, the game looked cool for the Wii as well. The Wiimotion Plus worked perfectly for me at I thought it was a cool way to play. This game is the beginning dude, this is the first Link, you MAKE the Master Sword in this game and fly through the air. Like- what's there not to love. It's an unpopular opinion but I LOVE Skyward Sword and it's my 2nd favorite Zelda game.

1. The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild - This is one hell of a gaming experience I won't be forgetting anytime soon. This is a modern classic, the best Zelda game overall easily in my opinion. This open air game has set a new standard for open world adventures and the level of detail and care that went into this modern take of the original Zelda is just a game you'll get lost in for days on end. It almost makes other Zelda games seem bad comparatively.
Sidenote, I actually played Hyrule Warriors, I liked it and I never played Triforce Heroes or Link's Crossbow Training.
